As you remember the victory of the Maccabees may the next eight days bring you a renewed awareness of G-d's protecting hand upon you, LO and your people.
As you remember the miraculous supply of oil for the Menorah may it bring you a renewed awareness of His miraculous provision in your own everyday life as well.
And let us all, Jew and Gentile alike, pray for the peace of Israel.
In a world full of sterotypes, I love that I break several of them...I'm 100% Chinese but at 5'8" I'm considered tall...I'm Jewish and almost every time I go to shul or the kosher market, there is at least one person (usually more) who stares at me in disbelief...my daughter (LO or Little Orieyenta) is adopted from China but between the two of us (since we live in Miami) we speak more Spanish than we do Chinese and as odd as it may seem, we speak more Hebrew than we do Spanish.
