Bedtime Rituals

(Yes, those are curlers - she loves to have curly hair!)

Every night when LO goes to bed, I tuck her in and we say the Shema together. This is always followed by a series of hugs and kisses and the following dialogue:

Laila tov.

Jo tau.

Buenos noches.

Bonne nuit.

Good night.

I love you.

(Goodnight in Hebrew, Cantonese, Spanish, French and English respectively.)

I hope this is a "bedtime ritual" she nevers grows too old for.

Shabbat Shalom.

Now that is sweet! For now Ann mostly wants me to say "I like you and I love you."

I predict that your ritual is either something that will never stop or it may take a brief adolescent hiatus, but since your bond is so well-established, will certainly be back for the long term.

What a wonderful ritual. I an certain she will carry it with her the rest of her life.

Ours is more of a "sweet dreams, I love you, night night!" Yours is more multicultural... too cool! Shabbat Shalom!
